Why We Play

The Sports Alliance of Minnesota is starting a series of gatherings featuring a short presentation, discussion and networking. The first is Wednesday, May 21, from 9 to 10 AM at the Brookdale Library in Brooklyn Center. The topic is “Why We Play” and the presentation will be given by Jody Redman, Associate Director of the MSHSL. “Why We Play” is part of the MSHSL’s Coaches Education Program. The discussion will revolve around four important questions:

  • Why do I coach?
  • Why do I coach the way I do?
  • How does it feel to be coached by me?
  • How do I define success?

“Why We Play” PDF flyer. This should be a great opportunity to learn about improving youth athletics and developing people, the core mission of SAM. All are welcome, please RVSP if you are able at SportsAllianceMN@gmail.com.

  1. Living in northern Minnesota, I cannot attempt, but love the topic. Any chance of a video or written pdf of speakers and discussion?

    • Thanks for asking. I will check with MSHSL if they have a video of the full presentation that Jody has given in the past. I think an audio recording of the meeting on the 21st is possible as well. Please email SAM with the email link above to stay in touch.

What do you think?
